Baldness — Is This Happening to You?

Filed under: Hair Loss Treatment Truths — normanh @ 5:14 pm

How often do you see statements like this one “Buy This Product and It Will Help Your Hair To Grow Overnight” — and then comes the qualification — well perhaps! . if you are one of the people who is unfortunate enough to be losing your hair your first reaction could be to look for this miracle solution which will somehow “by magic” make it reappear. It is quite natural ,but unfortunately this kind of quick fix just doesn’t happen when it comes to trying to restore your hair growth.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary there is still a very large number of men and women who will believe these old-fashioned advertising gimmicks and treatments and as a result spend their hard earned money on these products. Some of these magic formulas even pretend that they can make your hair grow more thickly and in extreme cases claim they can make your hair grow back entirely.

It must be stated quite clearly and emphatically that these products do not work. It doesn’t matter how convincing the advertising is they will inevitably turn out to be some sort of “Rip Off” and will never accomplish the claim they make of re-growing lost hair.

The people behind these advertisements and claims are very clever and accomplished at what they do and consequently it is not difficult at all to believe them. It is the very fact that you are losing your hair which prompts you to accept the false promises which are made. Most people in this situation really want to believe there is some magic, quick fix formula or potion which will make their dreams come true.

The same things occur in the diet, fitness and weight loss industry. What they actually do is to prey on your fear and insecurity and the result is they make millions of dollars from the bogus claims. They are also inclined to state reasons for you losing your hair which are also false.

They then concoct all sorts of reasons why their particular product will solve your hair loss problems overnight none of which turn out to be truthful. Human nature dictates that people will desperately seek a product which they hope will turn out to be the answer or quick fix they are looking for.

If you find yourself in this situation the best advice is to ensure that before purchasing anything do some thorough research and take a good close look at any claims which are being made for any particular product. It must be remembered that a great deal of these products are not regulated by the FDA.

The reason for this is that the majority do not contain any ingredients whatever that will assist or affect how your body functions. Inevitably of course their advertising and their packaging will give this impression.

The people behind these bogus hair loss remedies are clever enough to ensure that their advertising of any kind gives the appearance that their particular product is backed up by some scientific data. These are purely bogus and can best be described as marketing ploys.

On the other hand they are also clever enough to ensure that they do not make any claims regarding actual hair growth which could be considered to be illegal and against the law.

In conclusion always make certain by doing some research that any claims are in fact true and genuine. This will not only save you a great deal of disappointment but can also save your hard earned money.

Hair Loss and Poor Nutrition — Possible Links?

Filed under: Diet and Hair Loss — normanh @ 4:18 pm

There is no doubt that with regard to general health and possible remedies for such things as hair loss there is some evidence that quite a lot of supplement companies take advantage of people’s ignorance. Broadly speaking this is accomplished by convincing people that certain pills and powders will make the necessary adjustments to any nutritional deficiency which will in turn assist in overcoming hair loss problems.

This is of course a fallacy as the likelihood of hair loss being caused by any nutritional deficiencies is quite rare. In actual fact there is only one cause of hair loss with a connection to nutrition and that is anaemia. When someone is diagnosed as anaemic they normally will experience a very poor level of iron in the blood coupled with a reduced red blood cell count.

There is also quite substantial evidence that anaemia is more likely to be found in women rathethan men. No research has managed to establish exactly why this is so but there is some belief that there is a possible link to a female’s diet which generally speaking contains less red meat. Women need more iron as they can experience considerable blood loss due to their monthly premenstrual cycle.

Anaemia And Hair Loss — What’s the Connection

If your hair is falling out and you feel this may be due to you being anaemic the best thing to do, and certainly the first step should be, having a blood test done by your doctor or health-care professional. There is a protein known as Ferritin which circulates in the bloodstream and actually stores iron. By undergoing a blood test it will enable the level of Ferritin to be measured and consequently your body’s iron level.

If the blood test indicates that you are in fact deficient in iron then it will be the task of your doctor or health-care professional to ascertain the exact cause of the deficiency.

Quite a number of people believe that taking supplements which contain extra iron will assist in preventing hair loss, unfortunately the fact is that this is highly unlikely. Inevitably it will be necessary for your doctor or health-care professional to prescribe the correct medications to ensure that the iron will be absorbed correctly.

As stated earlier the likelihood of any nutrition deficiency being the direct cause of thinning or loss of hair is very rare. There are however some diet practices which can be harmful and may cause you to have certain side-effects which may indirectly result in thinning or loss of hair. One such side effect is the extreme nutritional deficiency caused by being anorexic or bulimic.

If you are unfortunate enough to experience such drastic nutritional problems for example not eating for some days, or in extreme cases weeks, your body will inevitably have a quick reaction in order to protect itself. Your body could also possibly produce bald spots and thinning of the hair.
